This is a great device, but the Rat Zapper Classic's sensor quit working after 1 kill. Go for the ULTRA.

Thank goodness the Rat Zapper exists, because our house would probably be over-run with mice without it. We suddenly had a mice problem within the ceiling and walls of an addition on our house (over our bedroom). We drilled a hole in the ceiling to gain access up there, and called a local exterminator. He put poison up there, but that's all he could do. They licked the peanut butter off of the poison, and needless to say this did not work.

We then called Terminex, and all they had was more poison and sticky pads that the mice were "supposed to" get stuck on. A few nights we heard them up there getting stuck, and then would almost immediately flick themselves free. We called them back, and they said that's all they could do. After spending about $400 on exterminators that did absolutely NOTHING We were literally at our wits end and disgusted. We tried 9 regular snap traps with peanut butter, beef jerkey, and cheese. They didn't attempt to eat any of this.

Then I found these things on Amazon and sent for a CLASSIC one with overnight shipping. The next day we put this up in the ceiling with a few pieces of cat food, and used the "rat tail" indicator hanging down from the ceiling to let us know if it caught anything. Within 45 minutes of putting it up there, the eyes began to flash, and it caught the first mouse! We checked it again the next morning, and the food was gone but the device had not been tripped. We tested it with a knife, and it was still working, but for some reason the sensor didn't seem to be working.

Desperate for a solution we got the ULTRA version (because it has a different infared sensor) and within the next half hour the 2nd and 3rd mice were both dead, and we have not heard from these mice in about 3 months now. We also let our neighbor borrow it for his garage and he has already had great luck with it there. Get the ULTRA version, the sensor has continued to work! I don't know what we would have done without this!

There was a mouse that lived in our bed room. Every night when I went to sleep I could hear him scratching or nibbling on some crumbs. I went to the local hardware store and picked up the plastic traps and all this mouse did when I put them out, was steal the peanut butter off of the traps. I then went and bought the glue traps that one of my friends said would work. These did work, only problem was the mouse was to strong and just dragged the traps to her nest. So I decided to spend a little money and ordered the Ari Zap Rat Zapper Classic. The first night I set the trap in my room, and not an hour after I laid down to sleep I had caught the evasive little rodent.
Yesterday when I turned on the kitchen light before I went to work I saw a mouse run across the floor. Last night I put new peanut butter in the back of the Zapper and went with my wife to the living room to watch TV. Before I went to bed I checked the Zapper that I had placed in the kitchen. Sure enough there was a mouse stiff as a board-dead inside the Zapper.
The thing that is ideal about this item is that it does not allow a chance for the mice to escape once they enter the trap the are doomed.
